Marilène – Finance
Marilène started at TPT in October 2019 in an All-round position with focus on HR. I really wanted to continue my studies and TPT gave me this opportunity to combine work with HBO study. With my new studies in Business Administration I have moved to a new function in Finance that complements my studies. At TPT, we believe in providing opportunities for growth and creating a path for professional development so that you can shape your career based on your interests and aspirations.
Workday
“My Monday is always reserved for school, but on the other working days I start updating the mailboxes and booking invoices. After that, I work on updating the project sheets and checking salaries. I also process expense claims, overtime and I am involved in sorting out utilities and monitoring the budgets. I regularly sit down with my manager to discuss the state of affairs.”
“I like to work in an organized way and make sure everything is finished on time. I also make time to chat with colleagues and am always open to a chat. Making time for each other and creating a good atmosphere are of great importance to me”.
We believe that a good relationship between colleagues plays a crucial role in creating a positive work culture and fostering a strong team spirit. As a team, we strongly believe in the power of a strong mutual bond. We encourage each other, share knowledge and experiences and celebrate success together. This creates a sense of belonging and pride within our team.
Valuable experience
“The most valuable thing I have learned is that TPT has confidence in me and gave me a lot of guidance in the beginning. This helped me a lot, because I had just left school and had no work experience yet. The genuine interest in my studies and career is also something I appreciate”.
In our organisation, we foster a culture of genuine interest and involvement, in which we maintain close relationships with our staff and regularly organise activities to have fun together. One of our well-known initiatives is Dolle Donderdag, where we take the time to eat something together.
“TPT is a positive employer that offers many opportunities and is always open to my requests. They are very proactive about my career, study and development and have a genuine interest in me”.
Jamie – Account Manager
Jamie joined TPT in June 2020 after a quick application process. Prior to this, Jamie worked at a real estate agency where she was responsible for apartment management. ‘I had no experience as an Account Manager yet, but the position appealed to me and I saw it as a challenge’. Jamie now celebrates 4 years at TPT ‘Personally, this is quite an achievement as I changed jobs a number of times and didn’t quite find what I was looking for. In the meantime, I can say that I have more than found my place in both my job and employer’.
Workday
As an Account Manager, you will be asked to work in a dynamic work environment, where planning, organisation and maintaining customer satisfaction are key. A typical workday for Jamie starts with going through emails and reviewing urgent matters. ‘I supervise ongoing productions and make sure that transporters load on time. In addition, I process the orders, plan the transports and take stock management’.
Despite the challenges Jamie faces, such as dealing with unexpected situations and maintaining an overview in sometimes stressful situations, Jamie remains positive and committed to satisfying the customer. ‘I get a kick out of it when I get something done for the benefit of our company, but the customer is also satisfied. It’s an opportunity for me to grow and get better at my job.”
Future
In addition, Jamie has grown in her position, which has been expanded to include Front Office Manager, where her team provides a warm and safe welcome at TPT. Jamie is responsible, among other things, for the schedules and provides support to the team. ‘I would like to offer more structure and we do this by, for example, drawing up manuals and procedures.’
At TPT, we strive to create an environment in which our employees can grow and develop themselves. We are grateful for the commitment of colleagues like Jamie, who contribute to the success of our company every day.
Jan – Operator
“I had been working at a local gas station for 20 years, but I wanted to develop myself in a different area,” says Jan, an operator at TPT who has been with the company for 17 years. “I was hired at TPT without any prior knowledge and was able to continuing my education at the same time. It was a challenging period in which I gained a lot of practical experience, which greatly facilitated the learning process.” What Jan indicates: “I gradually rose from student Operator to All-round Operator,” he explains. “The variety of tasks has always motivated me. I appreciate the freedom I have to do my work in my own way.”
Operator
According to Jan, there are certain skills and characteristics that are crucial for success as an operator at TPT. “It is important to be interested in the technical aspects of chemistry and to continue to develop yourself,” he emphasizes. “Being able to perform under pressure is also essential, but it is very important to always think carefully before taking action. In addition, motivation to do your job well is very important.”
Working as an operator at TPT has shaped Jan both personally and professionally. “I have been able to expand my social skills by working with colleagues with different personalities and opinions,” he says. “I have learned to collaborate effectively and I have gained a lot of technical experience, which is good for my personal development.”
Finally, Jan has some advice for anyone considering a career as an Operator at TPT. “As a novice operator you can learn a lot here,” he emphasizes. “There are many different tasks that you can perform and there is a high degree of collegiality. You are listened to and you get the opportunity to further develop yourself through courses and training. TPT offers an inspiring environment in which you can grow and reach your full potential. I am proud of my 17 years at TPT as an Operator and I can confidently say that it is a great place to work and grow.”
Career
During his time at TPT, Jan has experienced significant changes in technologies and processes. “Many tanks have been built and new production processes have been introduced, such as those with ammonia,” says Jan. “Automation processes have accelerated and simplified work. Improvements have also been made in the field of safety, such as more extensive work permits, fall protection and the use of loading arms. In addition, various laws have been adopted to guarantee a safe working environment.”
One project that Jan is particularly proud of is a customer’s request to produce ammonium acetate. “I was involved in the testing and it was a challenging process where we had to cool liquid to form crystals,” he enthuses. “Those crystals were placed in a centrifuge where they sank and were dropped. It was a combination of chemical and mechanical processes and the success of this project made it really special.”
TPT is known for its innovative approach in the industry. “TPT is a great employer with good benefits,” he says. “I appreciate the freedom and variety of the work I have here. In addition, there is good reward for performance, which strengthens my motivation.”
Mika – E&I Technician
Mika completed his education in electrical engineering 2 years ago at the Scalda in Vlissingen. Through his internship, he got to know TPT. After graduating, Mika didn’t know exactly what direction he wanted to take. “I liked working at TPT and therefore contacted a TPT employee, after which an interview followed and I was hired. It had actually gone very quickly, from one day to the next I was hired”.
Work Environment
Initially, Mika started as an electrical intern, but has since grown into a full-fledged E&I Technician. “I have already done several courses and this year there are also a number of them on the schedule. I learn a lot and get the opportunity to develop myself in my profession”. What immediately struck me at TPT is the good working atmosphere and company culture. It feels like a big family in which we are familiar with each others capabilities and help each other”.
An inspiring working environment is what we stand for at TPT. “At TPT, we get the opportunity to put our knowledge into practice and develop ourselves further,” says Mika enthusiastically. “It’s a place where we feel valued and where we achieve success together.”
Workday
Mika’s day looks different every time. “From renewing installations to solving complex malfunctions, no two days are the same. One of the most challenging projects I had the pleasure of working on was connecting two brand new tanks. This required a lot of electrical work and thorough preparation for the reception of the tanks. Despite the tight deadline and the pressure that was on it, I managed to push myself and successfully completed the project”.
At TPT, we strive to create an environment in which our employees can grow and develop themselves. We are grateful for the commitment of colleagues like Mika, who contribute to the success of our company every day.
Baris – Logistic Planner
“In 2021, I moved to the Netherlands to live with my Dutch girlfriend in beautiful Middelburg,” Baris says with enthusiasm. “After the move, I immediately started looking for work and found a job at a Turkish logistics company in Rotterdam. Although I had a good time there, I wanted to look for something closer because of the long travel distance. I decided to look for vacancies and I saw TPT. I was immediately interested and sent in my application. Soon my first interview was scheduled. And guess what? I was hired!”
Career
“At TPT, we all have a common goal in mind, and we work together with our colleagues to achieve it,” Baris continues. “The interconnectedness gives me energy. For example, I’m interested in process development, and it’s great that I can apply my interests in the workplace. Together with a number of colleagues, I am working on a new ERP system. We are happy to share our knowledge and interests with each other. Every week I sit down with my manager to discuss everything, which makes me feel good. People listen to me and that also leads to new insights.”
We encourage personal and professional growth. We offer our employees the opportunity to develop their skills and specialize in their areas of interest. We have in-house training and mentoring programs to ensure that our team is constantly growing and improving itself. In addition, we are open to new ideas and innovation. We encourage our employees to come up with proposals and actively participate in decision-making, so that we can continue to evolve as an organization and be successful in a rapidly changing world.
Culture
“It took some time to get used to the Dutch work culture,” Baris explains. “In Turkey, there is a clear dividing line between your manager and yourself as an employee. Here, it’s all a bit looser. I like the fact that I can just drop in on my manager to ask something or just to discuss something quickly. In addition, fun activities are regularly organized for the staff, such as team outings and something to eat together.”
At TPT, we value an open and inclusive work culture. We believe in a flat organizational structure in which everyone feels free to share ideas and ask questions. By creating an open environment where everyone feels heard, we foster a positive work atmosphere and strong team relationships.
With a smile on his face, Baris concludes: “I’m really happy that I took the step to work at TPT. It’s not only a great place to work where I can use my skills and grow, but also a warm and supportive environment where I feel valued. I am grateful for the opportunities TPT has provided me with and look forward to achieving even more successes together with my colleagues.”
